Updated MONDAY 24/08/09. 08:10hrs.(wsdt) WEEKEND FORECAST FOR 29th & 30th August. Saturday we will be in a onshore SW stream with the protected breaks out of the wind providing some clean surfing conditions. Good news is Sunday we will finally have an offshore wind for the weekend with good quality waves up and down the coast and some good quality banks in the Perth and Mandurah areas. SATURDAY Perth & Mandurah Winds: Fresh SW winds in the morning which will back off quite considerably and become light S to S/SW by mid afternoon. Waves: Shoulder to head the norm along the beach breaks which will be looking ugly in the morning before becoming quite surfable by the afternoon as the wind backs off with some good banks on offer. The protected groynes and reefs will be providing some clean ones in the morning with the small swell reef breaks the go in the afternoon. Tides: 0.84m @ 4:30 AM, 0.45m @ 3:37 PM. Margaret River Winds: Fresh SW winds in the morning which will back off quite considerably and become light S to S/SW by mid afternoon. Waves: Six to eight footers the norm at Mainbreak with the odd ten foot sneaker. The left at Mainbreak will only be looking pretty clean in the onshore and with the wind backing off throughout the day most of the open ocean breaks will be providing some reasonable quality by the afternoon. Good news is the bays and points will be providing some fun ones. Tides: 1.09m @ 2:52 AM, 0.54m @ 3:45 PM. SUNDAY Perth & Mandurah Winds:Light E/NE in the morning before swinging into the NW direction by around midday then strengthening in the afternoon. Waves:Shoulder to head the norm along the beach breaks with some good quality surf on offer early. Wind will swing NW by the afternoon, light at first then becoming fresh. Tides: 0.85m @ 6:23 AM, 0.46m @ 3:52 PM. Margaret River Winds: Light NE in the morning before swinging into the NW direction by around midday then strengthening in the afternoon. Waves:Six to eight footers the norm with the very odd bigger sneaker at Mainbreak. Early is the call with the wind expected to swing mid to late morning. Tides: 1.08m @ 4:53 AM, 0.53m @ 3:52 PM.
