09/07/05 By Marz Surfing fraternity mourns passing of surfing artist. Thirty two year old David Rich from Denmark drowned while surfing at Ocean Beach during the week. The talented surfer and artist who was well respected by the Southern and general surfing fraternity of Western Australia was found still attached to his surfboard by his leg rope by beach goers on Monday afternoon. Rich who lived for his children, family, surfing and his art will be sadly missed by all who knew him and is survived by his wife Josie and 3 daughters, one of whom was only born 9 weeks ago. Described as a "gentle giant" by not only his mother, but friends and family a memorial service will be held for him at the Ocean Beach Anglers club this Wednesday the 13/07/05 at 10.00am. May your spirit run with the offshore winds. Deepest condolences to the Rich family from all the crew at SRO. |
