21/01/05 Tsunami Appeal email Hoax Be aware of some low life that is trying to scam crew into donating money to a false appeal for the Tsunami/Earthquake disaster. If you have received a broadcast Tsunami Appeal email requesting donations to 'The Santa Maria International Response Fund in partnership with the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies', please be aware that this is not an official communication from Australian Red Cross or the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement. It should be deleted immediately as the Australian Red Cross does not send unsolicited email to the public requesting donations. Watch out because you get scamers that pop up out of the wood work when disasters strike to try and make some bucks for their own personal gain. Please be aware that the Australian Red Cross DOES NOT send unsolicited email to the public requesting donations. If you receive an unsolicited email alleging to be on behalf of Red Cross or collecting for Red Cross, immediately delete the message and do not forward or otherwise circulate it. Do not respond to these messages or provide any personal details to unsolicited email that you may receive. May the scammer who is responsible for this have all the hairs on his buttocks turn to pimples and may his local chemist run out of clearasil. |
