29/06/17 07:45am EMAIL THIS TO A FRIEND Weekend Surf Forecast 1-2 July 2017 Strong onshore winds forecast for Saturday and while the small swell beach breaks will be blown out in the Perth and Mandurah areas, the protected breaks out of the wind should provide some clean rideable surf. The South West region will see strong to possible gale force onshore winds on Saturday with Sunday morning seeing the winds moderating with a large swell running, but not a mega large winter storm swell. PERTH/MANDURAH Saturday Fresh to strong W/SW winds first up swinging strong SW around midday and into the afternoon. Wave heights along the small swell beach breaks shoulder to head high mark with the odd head high plus one towards midday. SWELL: 2.5 to 3m in the morning 3 to 4m in the afternnon. DIRECTION: W/SW all day. PERIOD: 13 seconds Sunday Fresh S/SE winds in the morning with a possibility of it swinging into the SE direction. Wind will back off into the afternoon from the S/SE to SE direction. Small swell beach breaks will be producing wave heights between the shoulder to head high mark with the odd head high plus set. Again the protected breaks from the wind will be your best option. SWELL: 2 to 3m in the morning 2 to 2.5m in the afternnon. DIRECTION: W/SW all day. PERIOD: 15 seconds throughout the day. MARGARET RIVER Saturday Strong to gale force SW winds throughout the day. Wave heights blown out twelve to fifteen feet. Protected Bays, Points and coves will be delivering the goods with clean walls on offer. SWELL: 4.5 to 5m in the morning up to 6m in the afternnon. DIRECTION: W/SW in the morning SW in the afternoon. PERIOD: 13 seconds in the morning, 15 to 16 seconds in the afternoon. Sunday Strong S winds in the morning becoming fresh S in the afternoon. Wave heights eight to ten feet with twelve foot sets. Protected Bays and Points are the best options for clean walls. SWELL: 4 to 5m in the morning 3.5 to 4m in the afternnon. DIRECTION: SW throughout the day. PERIOD: 15 seconds in the morning, 14 seconds in the afternoon. Forecast is based on swell size not combined seas and swell. |
